Codemasters has released a new trailer of F1 2010, but unlike previous ‘developer diaries’ it features pure gameplay footage. Much of the footage in the video is from the Sepang and Spa circuits but there is also a brief first look at the Valencia Street Circuit.
As promised earlier in the week, Codemasters has released the third of its F1 2010 developer diaries. Today’s instalment goes in-depth about the game’s weather system, highlighting key features including:
Heat haze
Differing rain intensities
Tyre temperatures
Puddles, rivers and other types of standing water
Wet weather handling
Individual simulation of every car’s effect on track
The two minute video is the third in a series of six due to arrive before the summer. As with all material released so far, 2009 placeholder cars are used but the final game will feature all 24 2010 cars, including the three new teams – Lotus, Virgin and Hispania. Check out the full video below:
Codemasters is being very open about development of F1 2010, going as far as to release a bunch of images which don’t even have the final set of cars included. Today they’ve also released the second in their series of “Developer Diaries”, this time focusing on car handling in the game. As usual, there’s comment from the design and production teams as well as former Super Aguri driver Anthony Davidson. Check out the video below:
Codemasters has today released the first in what it says will be a series of “developer diaries” for F1 2010. The movie features the first footage of the game in action and runs for about two minutes. There’s comment from senior members of the production and design teams as well as the revelation that Anthony Davidson will again be providing input on the driving mechanics. The former Super Aguri and Brawn GP driver played a key role in the development of last year’s game on Wii and PSP. Check out the video below:
When Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing releases early next year, the cast of Sega characters in the Xbox 360 version will be backed up by a few others. Most notably, Rare’s Banjo & Kazooie will appear (as a single playable duo) in their Nuts & Bolts vehicle, probably ready to blast all of the small fries like Tails out of the way.
Additionally, you’ll also be able to play as one of Rare’s other creations – your Xbox Live avatar. Once you’re on the circuit in the thoughtfully named “Avacar”, you can call in the avatars of your Live friends to help if you fall too far behind.
Codemasters is continuing its trend of releasing images of each circuit on the F1 calendar as the circus makes its way there in real life, and this weekend it’s the turn of Suzuka. The track is famous worldwide for hosting the Japanese Grand Prix and apart from a couple of years off in 2007 and 2008, it has done so every season in recent memory. It’s held in high regard by all drivers and is the only one on the calendar to feature a figure-of-eight layout. Check out the game screenshots and trailer featuring the track below:
The city-state of Singapore is the venue for the only night race on the Formula 1 calendar. I recall reading a comment many years ago about how time consuming F1 game developers found Monaco to create, but that must now pale in comparison to the challenge of creating a single circuit under floodlights.
It looks like Codemasters and Sumo Digital have risen to the challenge and today’s trailer is in my opinion the best we’ve seen of the game so far. Check it out below, after a few stills showing the cars under the lights:
Codemasters have released a trailer showing some in-game footage of DiRT 2 on Wii. The game is nearing completion and should be available in September, and the video shows that the new game is much more focused on races rather than timed runs.
Just like Codemasters, System 3 appears to be celebrating this weekend’s British Grand Prix and has released some new videos of SuperCar Challenge in action. One of the videos is part of a series involving community members demonstrating the game, while the other features the voice of Tiff Needell, who has become synonymous with the series.
Forza Motorsport 3′s attention to detail was touted last weekend at Le Mans when Turn 10 revealed that two variations of the famous French circuit would make an appearance in the game. A new video of the demo given to the press has appeared online and is much better quality than those previously uploaded.
