Sony appears to be sticking to its word that Gran Turismo 5 will finally arrive this year, today supplying the game’s boxart for all to see. Like a lot of people, they’re betting that the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be the most significant car of this year and have decided that a partial wireframe image of it is the best way to sell their game.
There are also a bunch of new images of the vehicle in-game to view today:

The final boxart for F1 2009 has been revealed. It seems to follow a similar style to that used for the BBC television intro, with a glowing car alongside the now infamous streets of Singapore, which host the only night race in the sport. Codemasters’ logo appears on the front of the box, but developer Sumo Digital’s looks like it will probably only appear on the back. Full image after the jump.

Turn 10 and Microsoft announced a partnership with Audi at E3 and it looks like this has played a role in the boxart for the game. It’s a relatively bland image featuring the rear end of an R8 which doesn’t look unlike the Gran Turismo 5: Prologue box. Full image after the jump.

The final packshot of DiRT 2 has been revealed and it looks like the edgy X-Games theme will be present on the cover as well as in the game. The electric green Codemasters have chosen is a world apart from the subdued brown used for the original’s cover. Also notable is that the PC version will be Games for Windows LIVE enabled, presumably including achievements. Full image after the jump.

There’s erupting volcanoes and hairy quad-bikers, meaning it can only be one thing – the Motorstorm Pacific Rift Packshot. The game is predictably plastered with the new horizontal banner that Sony has been placing on all their new exclusives and that banner will help people to know they can only get the game on PlayStation. I don’t recall hearing those erupting volcanoes actually made it into the final release though…

It seems that someone over at Rockstar is really, really interested in Turtle Wax. They’ve taken their love for the polishing line and applied it to the new packshot for Midnight Club LA with some very, very shiny results. It’s possibly one of the shiniest covers ever, although it will be interesting to see if it gets the embossing and extra shininess that GTA IV’s cover managed to get.

SimBin just sent out a copy of the packshot for its upcoming super sim Race Pro. It’s a pretty, albeit uninteresting affair which shows an Aston Martin DBR9 and a BMW 320si on a very glossy track. Here’s to wishing that the ability to race these two against each other is in the game, but I’m not holding out much hope for this.
At the bottom, you’ll notice the logos for the racing series that will be included – Formula 3000, WTCC and GT Pro.
