With the rising popularity of Formula 1 thanks in part to the retirement of Michael Schumacher and the introduction of Lewis Hamilton, I’m surprised it took this long for us to receive some news on a new F1 game. Codemasters just announced that they’ll be publishing the next official Formula 1 game next year and it will be based on the 2009 season.
The best news though is that it’s going to be multiplatform, appearing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. No screenshots yet (I don’t imagine we’ll see much until some time into the 2009 season) but apparently it’s going to be based on an “evolved” version of the Ego engine which powers GRID and DiRT.
